Press Release: AJ+C Principal Peter Stronach receives Life Fellowship from Australian Institute of Architects

Peter Stronach, Principal at Allen Jack+Cottier (AJ+C) has been elevated to the Life Fellowship Hall of Fame by the Australian Institute of Architects (AIA).

Peter was honoured for his notable contribution to the architectural industry, his mentoring efforts as a design tutor at the University of Sydney and a councilor of the AIA NSW Chapter and the National Trust of Australia.

“This (award) is in honour of Peter’s notable contribution to the advancement of the profession, particularly in the adaption of old residential buildings,” said Melinda Dodson, AIA’s National President.

Throughout his 40 year career as an architect, Peter has designed numerous landmark projects including Apple Headquarters in Frenchs Forest, Circular Quay redevelopment, Kogarah Town Square and Sydney University Village.

Peter joined AJ+C in 1970, became a Director in 1976, and was Managing Director from 1996 to 2003. In 2002, he became a member of the Liverpool Council Design Review Panel, and was a member of the SEPP65 Burwood, Canada Bay, and Strathfield Design Review Panels between 2001-2005. He currently sits on City of Ryde and Marrickville Council’s Urban Design Review Panels.
