Wenworth Falls, Blue Mountains, NSW, Australia

Originally opened in 1908 as a privately owned sanatorium for tuberculosis sufferers, the facility went through other periods as a general, repatriation, and finally a geriatric hospital. The buildings with the greatest heritage significance were retained, repaired and incorporated into the redevelopment of the facility into a new nursing home. This comprises seven new buildings, providing nursing home accommodation for 120 beds in total in houses with 12 to 40 beds, 60 of them for those with special dementia needs, plus associated administrative, service and staff facilities.
