Cambridge Waters
Baoshan, Shanghai, China
Cambridge Waters is a newly designed residential development in the growing city of Baoshan situated on the outskirts of Shanghai. Aimed at the younger generation of professionals seeking to improve their living standards, Cambridge Waters offers a selection of low- to medium-rise apartments and townhouses set amongst a network of canals and landscaped gardens.
We developed the masterplan for Cambridge Waters in conjunction with SPG’s Tim Schwager and Australian landscape architects Oculus. Stage One came onto the market at the end of 2004 and sold out within weeks. Construction of Stage Two, comprising 3500 apartments in nine-, twelve- and 16-storey buildings, began in late 2005 and was completed in 2008. Cambridge Waters has set a new precedent for quality of living in Shanghai, which has resulted in an increasingly discerning residential market. Stage 3 promises to offer further apartment styles to suit buyers’ growing appetite for this style of development.
