Macquarie Park Corridor DCP Review

Macquarie Park, Sydney, NSW, Australia

Macquarie Park Corridor, an area in northwestern Sydney occupied mainly by large campus-style commercial buildings, has been identified as a major employment centre in the Sydney Metropolitan Strategy.

Originally an industrial zone, the area faces a range of planning issues, including large land holdings, large block sizes, poor permeability and limited connections with the surrounding neighbourhood and street network.

Allen Jack+Cottier (in association with Aspect, Stephen Collier Architects and Randles Straatveit Architects) were engaged to review existing planning controls and develop a robust urban structure plan as a framework for future development.

The team developed a new street and open space network to maximise permeability of the area and improve access to new train stations. Detailed built form controls are provided for other sites to improve the relationship between buildings, public places and streets.
