Ku-ring-gai Council Depot Site
Gordon, Sydney, NSW, Australia
Allen Jack+Cottier (in association with Oculus) prepared a masterplan to guide future development of the 1.6 hectare former Ku-ring-gai Council Depot Site at Gordon, in Sydney’s northern suburbs.
The site will become a tranquil new residential precinct framing a new bushland park and playground. The park, which will be the centrepiece of the site, innovatively responds to the water cycle through the use of bio-retention swales in the public domain.
The landscape weaves between the buildings, creating green fingers to link the upper terraces and cascade down the site to connect with the lower parkland. This landscape will be the dominant visual element of the site and the fabric that knits the new development into the existing neighbourhood.
