Vinosa at Prince Henry
Little Bay, Sydney, NSW, Australia
A former hospital site with significant heritage value, Prince Henry at Little Bay offers an alluring blend of history, a coastal lifestyle, nature and community living.
AJ+C was commissioned by Stockland to design a low-rise contemporary apartment on this site with generous outlook to Botany Bay, district parklands, and the city. Completed in the middle of 2008, Vinosa comprises of 55 apartments, luxuriously finished and fitted out with European appliances and the comforts and flexibility of C-Bus technology.
When designing Vinosa, it was important to consider the materials and forms of the other buildings on the Prince Henry development so that the overall aesthetic of the streetscape appears coherent and integrated. It imitates the relaxed feel of its surroundings with its use of clean lines and an unobtrusive colour palette.
Upon completion, Vinosa exceeded then-current BASIX standards (the Building Sustainability Index introduced by the New South Wales State Government) by incorporating grey water recycling measures, solar hot water, photo-voltaic panels, and cross-ventilated apartments.
